YMCA

TurkeyMan ‘Splash n’ Dash’


Thanksgiving Morning 9am to 10am at the West YMCA

· SWIM:3 laps in the 50 meter x 25 yard pool (No lane lines with a buoy in each corner of the pool that you must swim around) --> about 400m swim


· 5 min Transition (If you finish in 1 min you must wait the full 5 min / if you take longer, that’s eating into your race time)


· RUN: 1.5 mile run


· To sign up / please send Estimated 500 Free time & Estimated 1 mile run time to: Jim.Everett@ymcatvidaho.org (Jim.Everett@ymcatvidaho.org) DEADLINE is Tuesday, November 24th


· Cost: $5 for TriClub members, $7 for Y members, and $10 for non-Y members


Team Event: Everyone will be assigned a team based on estimated swim/run times. Each person will complete the whole event and the team place will be added up with the lowest total being our first annual TurkeyMan team winner.

Yes..it is a team event. Based on your estimated 500 free and 1 mile run times. You will be assinged your team...but you do the whole race yourself.

The whole race should take 15 to 30 minutes (without the 5 min transition).

Is the run going to be indoors or outdoors?

It will be outdoors... but you get a 5 min transition to get fully dry....

Alright, who ever ends up being part of my team...I expect you to be spending the next week in the pool and doing speed work on the track. Anyone who isn't on my team, feel free to follow the Joe Reed training program :P

Hey! That is a tried and true training method! And it benefits the economy....mainly Coldstone Creamery, Ben & Jerry's, and Idaho Pizza Company....

The Turkey Man was a blast! Thanks for a fun event. I especially enjoyed the slide! My family will be back next year.
