The Treasure Valley YMCA (Boise Downtown, West & Caldwell) is looking to improve on its adult swim fitness program for Triathletes, Sawtooth Master’s and Fitness Swimmers. We look to offer not only fun and challenging workouts for all abilities but to grow the team concept and social atmosphere. By offering several practice times with engaging, highly skilled coaches we want to improve your swim efficiency with a support network that keeps you coming back for more.

The attachment will highlight some of the values you gain from being part of the Treasure Valley YMCA SwimFit Program.

Notice Triclub membership fee includes Swimfit.

Kevin,
To me this looks like a great program and I am very interested. I have a full race calendar for 2010 but I would like to incorporate the SwimFit into my overall training cycles. Diversity keeps things interesting!
For the Triathlon training do you have any plans for outdoor swim training when the weather cooperates -spring, summer, fall?

Thanks.

Yes, yes, and yes...

You'll have a good size training group, incorporated into your swimming program. Athletes with similar goals and abilities training together is going to make you guys fast...and keep it fun.

Kevin - I've heard of some rumblings regarding this program specficially regarding the Masters program in that the Masters folks (non y-tri members) would be charged extra money in addition to their monthly dues to swim a Masters session. Is this correct? Can you expand?

We are trying to improve the Adult Swimming program at the Y as per feedback we've gotten from our swimmers.
Our goal is to grow the sport of swimming and make everyone a better swimmer.
In order to deliver on these goals a monthly fee is an option.
To offer more pracitece times, keep our talented coaches, LCM, swim clinics etc...we'll need some revenue to accomplish this.

Much of this is detailed in the attachment in the first post above.

We are going to have a meeting in early January to further this discussion, one at the West Y & one at the DT Y. We'll keep you posted on the times...

One thing is clear, we do have a lot of passionate people dedicated to swimming. Let's make the most of it.

please send me your feedback,
