Y Ironman Challenge
Who: Individuals of all ability levels are encouraged to participate!
What: Triathlon Challenge
When: The month of January 1st – 31st
Where: Any YMCA Facility
Why: Why Not?!
How: To participate in this challenge simply sign up at the front desk!
Cost: FREE to all YMCA Members
The YMCA Triathlon Club is challenging you to complete the distances of a full Ironman during the month of January. The ‘YMCA Ironman Challenge’ is the perfect way to kick off 2010, while getting a jump start on your New Year Resolutions!
Participants will have (1) month to complete the distances of a full Ironman:
Ø Swim: 2.4 miles (4,000 yards)
Ø Bike: 112 miles
Ø Run: 26.2 miles
Starting January 1st, participants can start tracking their swim/bike/run distances on the challenge log (see reverse side) until they have completed the full distance for each aspect of triathlon. Individuals of all ability levels are encouraged to participate. Triathlon veterans will be able to challenge themselves by striving to complete the distances in a shorter time frame (a couple of days vs. a full month).
All participants who complete the full Ironman distance by January 31st will be entered into a raffle for FREE Performance Testing. Winners will be announced the first week of February.
*** Please return your challenge logs to the front desk when finished. Completed challenge logs will be used for tracking eligible participants for the raffle drawing.
