The first of our 3 frostbite races is this Sunday at 9.00 am. Sign up is very slow at the moment and so if you are going to compete then I need to know asap so that I can work out the handicaps.
500 yards swim followed by 3 miles run.

Can you tell me more about the Frostbite series? When are the other races?
Sounds like fun.

I will let the pros handle the dates and times thing, but I will share that these races are a great time! The only race I have ever been DQ'd from was in the FB series...you take one short-cut on the run....
P.S Be sure to sand bag your swim times like Joe, so you can have a strong enough handicap to smoke the fleid!

That's what happens when you Shamu it up during the winter. Lots of blubber to increase that swim time.

Is it a series of races that you can do any of the races or do you have to do all of them? Do you have the other dates?

Here's and outline (but don't cut corners like Jeremy does/did or we'll nab ya..!)
Races are 500 yards swim: 3 miles run (transition is included in your overall time).
3 races but you can race any/all of them, its informal and only within the club. Start times are 9.00 am, so be at the pool for about 8.40 am.
Sunday, 17th Jan
Sunday, 21st Feb
Sunday, 21st March
Low key and fun events, but ask Joe, it can get pretty cold out there on the run after the swim.

DT or West?
And how do we get to the pool at 8:40 when they don't unlock the doors until 10?

Chris....if it is like last year, it is downtown Y, and they'll have the door to the pool open (the door right next to State Street by the hot tub).
Successful transition? Don't dry off.....after about a mile everything numbs up anyway.
