I know i saw most of you in the beginning of March over my spring break, but i just wanted to make a shout out to the club as a whole since i have been checkin up on the forum to see how everyone is doing. :) I hope all is well, and i bet you all are pumped for the racing to begin!!!!!
As for me, i have been in the racing mode for quite some time now, with the college XC season in the fall, indoor track in the winter, and now the outdoor season well underway. I can honestly say the college running scene is a bit intense, and as a freshman i am still sort of adjusting. Even after a minor injury and some sickness through the winter, it has still been AWESOME!!!!!
Training has been great, though a little different than what i have been accustomed to in high school running and tri training, i have responded well to the increased work load. Mileage is about 65 to 80 miles a week, but it really isnt that bad after you get used to it. I usually throw in a swim on easy days as well to keep my sanity:D
As for racing, i did a few 8k's back in the fall for XC and posted a seasonal pr of 28 mins and change on a hilly course at the "wonderful" University of Idaho in the "gorgeous" Moscow, Idaho.(relax Jeremy, im only kidding please dont hurt me)But now that track has rolled around i get switched around from 1500m races all the way up to 10k's. I ran a 4:19 1500m last weekend in Montana at the U of M, and make my collegiate steeplechase debut tomorrow morning here in spokane. Should be fun!!!!
Even though school is going very well, i cant put into words how excited i am to get back to triathlon mode and more importantly training with all you amazing people :D
I wish all of you good luck this weekend at the spring sprint, and i will see you all again in about 4 weeks!
