Lucky Peak swim distances

Hi all,

There has been a lot of questions and speculation regarding the swim distance of our Lucky Peak sessions. Harold helped me attach my Garmin to my wetsuit last night so it would read during the swim, and looking at the results I think it actually worked. Here you go:

From beach to docks (straight across to the east) = .35 mi

From beach to docks via the two bouys in the cove = .54 mi

From first docks, around corner (farther east) to second dock = .30 mi

These distances are approximate, of course, but looking at the map it produced I'd say it's pretty close.

I used Google Maps (a satellite image) and got about .5 mile if you swim from the beach straight over to the first dock and back. So it seems like your Garmin was at least in the ball park.:)

If you're familiar with the Runner's World website, you can create routes using satellite images in the Training Log part of the site. It's a really handy tool.
