I wanted see if there was any interest in the group to do a charity ride in May. The National Federation for the Blind is having a charity ride on Saturday May 16. There is a metric century route that is a lot like our Sunday rides. I have done the ride for the past several years and it is a lot of fun for a good cause. The fee is $35 unless we enter as a team and it is $30. This would be a great event to show up in our team kits and get some exposure participating in a charity event.
I am planning on riding in the event and I hope to see as many as possible out there.

Looks like a great way to substitute a Sunday ride for a Saturday ride of about the same distance. I'm in.
How many teams can we raise and can we all wear our uniforms or tees, etc?
Anyone prepared to be the point man on this or be a captain of a team?

We just need to send in our applications with the same name in the Team Info prior to May 11, 2009 - the "group" needs to be at least 5 people (may include children as well) and may choose the distance individually (someone can choose to ride 10 or 25 miles, another can choose to do the metric century).
Everyone is able to register on-line individually as well.

I'm planning to do this so I'm willing to be Captain if need be.
PS
FREE SOCKS !!!!:p

Hi All,
I've registered two people as "Team" for the Metric Century ride - the link seems to be broken on the on-line registration as PayPal charges the Individual amount. I've contacted the webmaster, hopefully it will be fixed SOON.
thanks,
Jill

there isn't a link to show who is registered, so I can only assume those who offered to participate have signed up.
thanks.

Even though I instigated this whole thing, I won't be able to make it. My wife is having surgery on Friday and I need to be close to home for a while afterwards.

I'm signed up as well. Should be a good ride. :)
For those of you who like maps instead of just directions (I'm a visual person) I mapped the route here: http://www.mapmyride.com/route/us/id/garden%20city/816124219025085895

All -
I'm benched for another week so I won't be able to join you this time for the long ride, I'll be sitting upright on the cruiser for the kiddie ride. Have a great ride!
