Fellow triathletes,

I received an email a few days ago regarding a club national championship ranking system.
It would be great if you could all create a membership and enter your results throughout the year - starting with the spring sprint! See details below.
The inaugural 2009 Club Cup Competition is now underway. Compete against other like sized clubs from across the nation. The competition began March 1st and ends October 15th. The winning club from each division will win a $750.00 sponsorship and the most active team will win $250.00. It's possible to win a total of $1000.00 if you win your division and are the most active club. Plus, bragging rights are on the line! If your interested in competing here's what you do:

1. Have your members join Tri Nation (www.trinationonline.com (http://www.trinationonline.com)) It's free!!
2. After they fill out the membership page and create their personal page click on the "edit my club membership" link found on the members personal page and join your club page.
3. After each member completes a timed and open sprint, olympic, half, or full event they will post their results on the "Submit Race Results for State and National Ranking" link found on their personal page. Their results will determine their individual state and national ranking and the points will be awarded to the team as well.

I just entered my results, it wasn't too complicated. If everyone enters their results it looks as if we will be ranked 1 out of 4 for the small club division! :)

yeah, but how do you figure the overall gender placement? I just don't feel like counting every name....

The results are calculated by gender on the YMCA website, it took me a while to figure this out too...

one clarification, be sure when you log your results to do it for Spring Sprint Idaho....there are several Spring Sprints out there.

The results for the Spring Sprint were given by gender as Jen says. Therefore its easy to calculate your overall position. As an example take Kelly Turner. She finished 8th overall in the females with a time of 1:14:22, which means that 7 women beat her with faster times. If she takes her time and compares it to where she would have finished as a man that would have placed her 44th. The overall placement for both genders is therefore 44 plus 7, equalling 51st.

In Jill's case she finished 55th in the women or 122nd as a man giving here an overall placement of 122 + 54 = 176th.

Hope this helps.

bump. We're getting some competition from a couple other clubs....if you haven't entered your spring sprint, go out and do it and keep us on top! Hopefully month of May will be good to us with Hawaii and Onion Man.
