Hey Y"All, (sorry been in Texas for a week)

Just wanted to give a little update on the race this past sunday.

Swim 32:34 (8th out of the water) Had a lot of goggle fog issues which cost me about 1 min.

Bike average 21.3mph (was still in 8th @ 1/2 way point and developed some adductor issues which slowed me quite a bit 2nd half. spent most of the last 25miles sitting up. It was also a bit breezy)

Then came the RUN- first 1 1/2 mile on a 7:40 pace feeling pretty good (no leg issues) then the heat and humidity got me. 85* and 90% humidity didn't work for me. Spent the next 2 hours fighting dizzyness, nausea, cramping, and a strong desire to quit!! Last 2 laps of the run course also had 30mph (constant) wind. (Felt bad for people still on the bike course.)

Bad news was a 2:14 run and a 5:22 overall time. Missed my goal and ended up 26th out of 62. Good news was I finished. I didn't beat the clock but I beat my mind! As Lance said " pain last for a short time, quitting lasts forever". I forgot how much those races hurt!! Can't wait for Boise 70.3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope to be there tonight.

Rob

Way to hang in there, Rob. I would have passed out in that temp/humidity for sure.

Way to go Rob. The first two legs look great. As for the run I am clad to is that you didn't pull a "Normann Stadler" and let some discomfort keep you from finishing. You are a stronger man today by working through that. Nice job.

That was a stellar swim and bike.....we need to get you on home turf at Boise so that you can crack this event. Way to hang in there though.

Nice swim and bike. I knew something happened on the run. Way to work through it and finish, that is tough to do.

Looking forward to Boise 70.3 and the training in between.
