What a great year of racing, its hard to believe that my whole list of races have come and gone. Not recovered enough from last weeks 1/2 to do this weeks zietgiest so I guess im done for the year, not much sense in ending the year with an injury.
I know some of you still have a race or 2 left for the season. I think Tom still has some cycle cross, Kevin and Hortie still have SF, Harold and Dan have Florida. Just wanted to wish you all luck and same to anyone with races that I didn't mention.
This is such a great group and I look forward to training with you this comming year, and watching us all meet and exceed our goals. A special thanks to Harold for bring us all together. I am looking forward to going to florida with you guys next year.
On that note, this will be the last serious thread i will post so don't get use to it!

Thanks Rob for the cheers. I am joining you in thanking our dear brit friend, mentor, and coach in bringing us together, and making this year a great training year. We all exceeded our fitness, and our goals.
Watch out for next year!

There is the Turkey Trot relay coming up in a few weeks. We could put a couple evenly matched teams together for a little friendly competition. Just as long as Jeremy isn't on my team. Can't stand that guy.
The x-mas run will also be coming up, near x-mas I would guess;). If you ask me, the team should get discounts since those are YMCA races!:D

Turkey Trot idea sounds great and I'll have Jeremy on my team. He seems like he would be a good person to stand behind and talk smack to the other teams at the starting line.

Great idea James. Let's get as many teams in as possible. November 22nd is the first weekend after the club officially launches, so by then we should all have our club tee-shirts. It would be a great way of integrating into the running community. Besides, its the 'Y' striders who stage the event.
If you are up for entering, let me know and I'll co-ordinate if you do not have a full team lined up.
For those who are unfamiliar with the run. Its not really a race (but it ends up being one!!); the winners are the team who can finish the closest to their predicted time. No watches, earphones, etc are allowed. 4 runners in a team over a flat 2 miles course around Anne Morrison Park.

I'm in! Last year we were the "Galloping Gizzards". Too bad we didn't win a turk-a-lurk for creativity. :D

Thought you guys would get a kick out of this.
So a last minute meeting was called that everyone from the down town office for Bogus had to attend. To my surprise, as I walked into the room, everyone has huge grins on their faces. This is what was covered in our meeting.
Gifts before I depart for Silverman....
1) Airborne so I don't get sick from someone on the plane ride down
2) A Jasmine (from Disney Aladdin) Time and Money work book to work on my management skills. The cover is bright Hot Pink with every Disney princess on the inside.
3) Razzle Tazzles to stick on my handle bars.
4) The original Macho Man Slim Jim to help keep me fueled.
5) And once the race is complete...Jock itch crème!
6) Then I was read A poem put together by one of our staff members and she titled it;
I am an Silverman
I began as a mortal human being
Someone that most individuals were used to seeing
I set my eye upon a goal
A goal that I could not fear
To extend my body and mind
Training for hours and hours upon time
I had to believe both physically and mentally of what I could achieve
And letting no doubt creep into me
At times I was tired, hurting and scared
But the thought of the finish line kept me pushing near
My goal was to accomplish my dream
The dream of what one day I could be called
I swam 1.2 I biked 56 I ran 13.1
My body revolting, but then participating in my plan
And as I crossed that finish line with all my strength
Everyone will look at me differently and call me
SILVERMAN
Anyways I just wanted to say thanks for everyone's support and friendship that stems from this club. And good luck to those that still have one more race Jeff, Kevin, Harold, Hortense and Dan.
