Well there were 5 of us troopers today at the 10 AM ride. Matt, Don and Kelley, and Kev and I.
Conditions:foggy and humid.
Circumstances: :p
I got a flat at the very beginning so we had a delayed start. In addition to that, i opened my patch kit to find everything in it except for glue...so no luck there. Don graciously offered one of his spare tube.
After a lightning fast tire changing - I win the award:D - we rode away on Hill road. This is when I quickly realized how important it is to have very good winter clothes. I was nice and warm everywhere except for my toes. Despite wearing the booties, the cold and moist air still penetrated through my shoes and socks. Once I got to the cemetery, I decided to let the boys go and turn around as my toes were stiff as sticks! it is funny how much being cold takes the fun away from riding your bike!
I rode back trying to keep my mind off the pain of iced toes. As I got closer to 36th street, my back wheel flatted again, and this time with no ressource left to change it.
I called my brother to see if he could come pick me up...no luck there, he was still sleeping.
Then called Adam Wirth, who lives a couple of blocks away from where I was stranded. He kindly accepted to drive me back to my house. Thanks Adam!
Lessons of the day:
Always check your patch kit - make sure you still have glue, and patches
Always bring 2 spare tubes
Cell phone
Have good friends!
And buy very good winter booties...IMT has great warm, waterproof shoe covers that I can't wait to try next sunday. (as for my old ones, I will wait until the spring to wear them again...)

See you all tomorrow, and we hope that more of you will come next sunday.

Cheers,
Hortie.
